SORRENTO, Fla.—Jonathan Fly carded a two-under-par 70 in the final round to lead the University of Memphis golf team to a ninth place finish at the Conference USA Men’s Golf Championship.

Fly’s three day total of 219 earned him a share of 12th place individually. Carlson Cox turned in a final round 77 to finish in a tie for 27th position. Jack Belote’s three-day total of 228 left him in a tie for 37th place. Lexus Keoninh (230) and Brandon Bunn (231) finished in 41st and 43rd, respectively.

Memphis posted team scores of 300-301-298 and finished ninth in the event. UCF won its second straight Conference USA Men's Golf Championship at 6-under with four golfers finishing in the top 10.

The Knights shot a low round of 278 on the final day, finishing with a six-under 858for the three-round tournament on the par 72, 7,152-yard RedTail Golf Club.

Rice senior Christopher Brown earned medalist honors, beating out the competition by five strokes with scores of 70-69-70 (-7). Brown led the Owls to a second-place finish, tying with Southern Miss, as both teams finished +12 with an 876.

There was a four-way tie for second place to complete the all-tournament team. UCF golfers Connor Arendell, Nuno Henriques and Brad Schneider all carded a 214 for the event, while Southern Miss senior Wes Carter was also two-under with a 214.
