Tigers Struggle in Second-Round Action

Nashville, Tenn. - Rough conditions thwarted the Memphis men's golf team Saturday in the second round of the Mason Rudolph Championship. The Tigers were +8 on the day (292), falling from fourth place to eighth with an overall score of 12 strokes over par. Senior Jack Belote and redshirt freshman Jack Belote led the Tigers in the second round with scores of 72 on the par-71 course. Belote, who is now even for the Championship, had three birdies on the day to tie for 10th overall. Hoffman is currently tied for 31st place at +4 overall with three birdies and four bogeys in his second round. Another pair of Tigers came in at +3 on the day as Jonathan Fly and Steve Lee each carded 74s. Fly had three birdies over his 18 holes and was -1 on the front nine before struggling on the back nine and finishing with back-to-back bogeys. Lee birdied his final hole of the day after posting two bogeys and a double bogey. Cory Gaylord went +5 in the second round while newcomer Erwan Vieilledent went +3 competing as an individual.
