BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Memphis men's golf team had a consistent day at the Shoal Creek Intercollegiate as the Tigers shot 290 and 288 to sit in a tie for fourth through two rounds of competition. With one round remaining, the Tigers are just seven strokes back from the lead in a field comprised of nine teams that finished in the top-65 in the nation last season.

"We played very well today, and are in good position going into tomorrow," said head coach Grant Robbins. "We just need to stay relaxed and focus on one shot at a time and see what happens."

Junior Grant Milner finished -2 on the day after rounds of 71, which tied him for seventh with one round left. Milner fired seven birdies in the first round to total nine on the day, while junior Will Pearson ended the first day of play tied for 13th after seven birdies through two rounds.

Senior Steve Lee finished third among the Tigers on the day with eight birdies to tie for 24th through two rounds. After falling behind early with a 79, junior Erwan Vieilledent made a comeback, firing a 2-under-par 70 in the second round to sit in a tie for 30th. Rounding out the Tiger team was senior Lexus Keoninh, who tied for 40th with round scores of 78 and 74.

Houston leads the field with a 571 after a much improved second round score performance of 279. LSU is in second with a 576 while UAB rounds out the top-three with a 577. Tulsa is tied with the Tigers at 578.

Keoninh will lead off the final round tomorrow for the Tigers with a tee time of 8:15 a.m. Fans can follow along with the competition by going to Golfstat.com for live scoring updates.
