No. 26 Memphis Tied for Fifth After First Round at Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. -The Memphis men's golf team finished the first round of the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate Friday afternoon tied for fifth place with an even par of 288. 

Joining the Tigers and the host East Tennessee State Bucs is: Army, Coastal Carolina, Furman, No. 17 Kent State, No. 47 Missouri, Penn State, No. 48 Tennessee, Villanova, No. 14 Virginia, No. 13 Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and UNC Wilmington.

Freshman Lars Van Meijel paced the Tigers with a 3-under-par of 69. Sophomore Thomas Perrot shot an even 72, including a 4-under back nine holes. 

Junior Cory Gaylord shot a 1-over 73, while senior Will Pearson rounded out the scoring for the Tigers with a 2-over 74. Senior Erwan Vieilledent had two birdies and an eagle on the day, but finished with 76 strokes.
