Milner in First After Two Rounds at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate

JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. - Junior Grant Milner fired a 5-under-par 67 for the second straight day as the Knoxville, Tenn., native is currently in first by five strokes after two rounds at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate in Jonesborough. In the second round, Milner recorded eight birdies to total 134 through two rounds of play, the second-lowest 36-hole score in school history behind Ian Rochester's score of 132 at the CSU Spring Kick Off in 2008. The Tigers are tied for third with No. 12 Missouri with a score of 571 (-5), and are just four strokes out of first as No. 31 Tennessee leads the field with 567 (-9) through two rounds. Virginia sits in second with a 570 (-6) while No. 39 Virginia Tech 572 (-4) rounds out the top-five. "We didn't get off to a good start but they hung in there and we were able to stay in contention," said head coach Grant Robbins. "Everyone is playing well, we just need a few putts to fall early and see if we can make a run tomorrow." Junior Will Pearson had a 3-over-par 75 to sit in a tie for 14th after a 36-hole score of 143. Sophomore Cory Gaylord fired a 2-over-par 74 to sit in a tie for 38th with teammate Steve Lee, who carded a 3-over-par 75 on the day to total 147 through two rounds. Senior Lexus Keoninh rounded out the Tigers team with a 6-over-par 78 to bring his score to 156 for 69th after Saturday's play. The Tigers will wrap up play at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate tomorrow morning with Keoninh teeing off first for the Tigers at 9:20 a.m. ET.
