The University of Memphis Tiger golf team posted their third consecutive round in the 290s and finished tied for 11th in the Rio Pinar Intercollegiate, hosted by Central Florida in Orlando. The Tigers had their best round as a team this fall but failed to gain ground on the field.
Campbell University won the 36-hole tournament with a team total score of 848. Furman, which led after the first two rounds, placed second at 851 and Rollins was third at 866. Memphis had a team score of 878.
Simon Dunn, of Campbell University, led wire-to-wire and won the medalist honors with a score of 15-under par 201. His teammate Braxton Wynne was second at eight-under par 208. The Tigers top scorer was Michael Prieur, who turned in a one over par total of 217 to place in a tie for 23rd, while sophomore teammate David Jeans tied for 27th with a two over par score of 218.
