MALIBU, Calif. - The Memphis men's golf team finished the third round of play today at Pepperdine University's Club Glove Intercollegiate. The Tigers battled throughout play the adverse conditions created by the region's struggle with wildfires and finished ninth overall with two top-10 individual finishers.

Robbie Greenwell (77-73-81) and Ian Rochester (81-75-75) tied for eighth place individually to lead the Memphis team. Brandon Bunn (82-85-75) played his best golf of the tournament today to help the Tigers trim another six strokes off their team score for a round-three score of 309, but Pepperdine continued its improvement to maintain the lead it held throughout competition.

Jeff Hall (85-82-80) finished 55th and Jordan Payne (87-89-79) 59th overall.

The average score continued to fall as the weather conditions improved today. The round-three average was 78.87, almost one and a half strokes better than Monday's first round average of 80.19.

The Tigers travel to North Carolina next week to play in UNC-Greensboro's Bridgestone Golf Invitational.
