Tigers In Eighth Place At Fall Beach Golf Classic

Mobile, AL - The University of Memphis Tiger golf team turned in a two round total of five over par 575 and are currently in eighth place at South Alabama's Fall Beach Classic. The Tigers shot 291, three over par, in the opening round but came back with a four under par score of 284 in during second round play. Kentucky and Jacksonville State lead the team competition with 36-hole totals of 559. Southeastern Louisiana is in third place at 562. Middle Tennessee State is fourth with a score of 567 and Conference USA member Southern Mississippi is fifth at 569. Gareth Maybin of South Alabama leads all individuals after carding a second round score of 64 to go with his opening total of 71. Memphis' sophomore Richard Jones is tied for 24th after posting rounds of 72-71-143. Tiger sophomore Allan Thomas is tied for 28th at an even par score of 144 and David Jeans is tied for 37th with a 145. Final round action is slated for 8 AM Tuesday. TEAM SCORES: 1.
