Houston, Texas - The University of Memphis men's golf team opened its spring season with a fourth place finish at the Rice Intercollegiate. Memphis shot a three round total of 887 (286-298-303).

Four Tigers produced top-20 finishes lead by junior Brad Benjamin who finished tied for fourth with a score of 219 (69-75-75). Senior Robbie Greenwell finished tied for 15th, firing a 222 (70-77-75). Senior Ian Rochester (70-77-76) and freshman Stefan Erdedi (70-76-77) each carded a 223 to tie for 18th. Senior Kyle Ritchie shot a 236 (78-79-79).

Baylor won the tournament with a score of 878. UC Davis finished in second, two strokes back with an 880 and Pacific finished third with an 884. Amrith de Soysa of Louisiana Tech captured individual medalist honors.

The Tigers will return to action next week when they head to Orlando, Fla. to compete in the Rio Pinar Invitational Feb. 25-26.
