Men's Golf to Play in Rio Pinar Invitational

MEMPHIS - The University of Memphis men's golf team will attempt to build on their fourth place finish in the Rice Intercollegiate when they head to Orlando, Fla. to take part in the Rio Pinar Invitational Feb. 25-26. The event will be hosted by the University of Central Florida. The Tigers made their spring season debut last week at the Rice Intercollegiate. As a team, Memphis posted a score of 887 (286-298-303) in the 54-hole event. The Tigers had four top-five finishers in the tournament led by junior Brad Benjamin's tie for fourth place. Senior Robbie Greenwell tied for 15th and senior Ian Rochester and freshman Stefan Erdedi tied for 18th in the tournament. Tigers who qualified for the Rio Pinar are Benjamin, Erdedi, Greenwell, Rochester and sophomore Brandon Bunn. Memphis tied for 15th place at the Rio Pinar Invitational in 2007.
