Tigers Have Tough Opening Round in Ron Smith Invitational

Tampa, FL - The University of Memphis Tiger golf team posted an opening round score of 309 and find themselves in 14th place after one round of the USF/Ron Smith Invitational Golf Tournament hosted by South Florida. The College of Charleston leads after the opening 18-holes with a team score of nine under par 279. Virginia Commonwealth is second at 281 and Austin Peay State is in third place with a score of 294.
Ryan Zylstra of Virginia Commonwealth is the individual leader after turning in a five under par 67. Memphis is led by junior Chris Reinke who had an opening round of 75. Reinke is tied for 33rd.
The tournament, being played at the University of South Florida Golf Course, is scheduled for 54 holes. The second round will be played on Saturday with the final round slated to begin at 7:45 AM on Sunday.
