TAMPA, Fla.- The University of Memphis men's Golf team finished 10th at the University of South Florida Invitational on the USF Golf Course.
The Tigers shot a 931 (79-over) as a team. Jacksonville State won the event with a 902 (50-over) score. They were followed in second place by Central Florida (905, 53-over), and third place by South Florida (907, 55-over).
David Jeans led the Tigers with his top score of 229 (16-over) for the tournament. Jeans 18th place finished was provided by a strong final round 73 (2-over). Teammate Alan Weant scored a 78 (7-over) in the final round which gave him a 231 (18-over) score for the weekend and a 23rd place finish.
Gerith Myabin of South Alabama won the individual competition with a score of 218 (5-over). He beat Fredrik Ohlsson of Fr. Marion in a final hole playoff to win the event.
The Tiger Golf team will return to action next weekend as they travel to Baton Rouge, La. To compete in the LSU Spring Invitational at the University Club Golf Course.
