BATON ROUGE, La.- The Men's Golf team sits in 10th Place at the LSU Spring Invitational after a first round score of 296 at the University Club Golf Course near the Louisiana State University Campus.

Tiger golfer David Jeans shot a 72 (even par) to lead the Tigers and sits in 13th place amongst individual scores. Allan Thomas shot a 73 (1-over), Alan Weant shot a 75 (3-over), Michael Prieur shot a 76 (4-over) and Richard Jones shot an 85 (13-over).

Overall, the Tiger scores are much better than last week's scores in Tampa at the USF Invitational where inclement weather affected the play greatly.

The host school, LSU leads the tournament after round one with a team score of 289. Lamar is tied with LSU for the lead.

Second round action begins tomorrow in Baton Rouge.
