IRVING, Texas - Senior men's golfer Ian Rochester was named Conference USA Golfer of the Week for the week of Feb. 27-March 4, the league office announced Tuesday. Rochester received the award after winning the Charleston Southern Spring Invitational March 3-4.

Rochester fired a nine-under par 204 (65-67-72) to win the tournament by 12 strokes. The Georgetown, Ontario, Canada, native shot a three-round nine-under-par total of 204 (65-67-72) to win the tournament by 12 strokes. His efforts helped the Tigers win the team championship. The team shot an 874 to edge Kennesaw State by one stroke The Tigers had a one stroke advantage entering the final round and equaled Kennesaw State's final round 304 to bring home the victory. It was Rochester's second consecutive top-five finish.

Rochester's last medal came at the Billy Hitchcock Invitational in 2005. This is Rochester's second career C-USA weekly award, his first since April 2005. Rochester is the first Tiger to receive weekly honors since Brad Benjamin accomplished the feat in April of 2007.

Rochester and the Tigers will return to action when they travel to Greensboro, Ga. to compete in the Linger Longer Invitational March 14-16.
