Will Pearson Named The American Men's Golfer of the Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference Named Will Pearson the men’s golfer of the week after his performance at the USF Invitational.Pearson shot a 64 in the first round of the invitational, which is tied for the second best round of 18 in program history, one stroke off the record.
That mark beat his previous career-best of 65 set last year in the NCAA Regionals. The senior finished 8-under par inthe first round of the USF Invitational, the second lowest round under par in program history.Pearson shot a 3-under 69 in the last round of the USF Invitational, giving him a 9-under 207 for the tournament. The 207 is the best 54 holes put together this season by a member of the team and ranks tied for the No. 8 spot in program history, with the last golfer to shoot 207 being Jonathan Fly at the UK Bluegrass Invitational during the 2009-10 season.
The Tigers shot 844 (277-289-278) as a team in a field that included seven of the top 37 teams in the nation.
Pearson becomes the second Tiger to win the award during the 2013-14 season, with Lars Van Meijel being named during the fall season.
The Tigers continue their spring schedule Monday, March 10 when they travel to the Auburn Tiger Shootout in Auburn, Ala.
