Men's Golf Tied For Tenth at Linger Longer Invitational

GREENSBORO, Ga. - The University of Memphis men's golf team is tied for tenth place after the opening round of the Linger Longer Invitational. The event is hosted by Mercer University. Senior Robbie Greenwell paced the Tigers with his four-under-par 68. Greenwell is tied for 5th place after day one, just two shots off the lead. Junior Brad Benjamin and Ian Rochester each shot a 75 and are tied for 41st. Sophomores Mark Trow and Brandon Bunn carded a 78 and 79 respectively. As a team, the Tigers shot an opening round 296. The University of Mississippi carries the lead into day two after shooting a 277 as team. Tennessee-Chattanooga trails Mississippi by a single stroke. J.T. Clendenin of Tennessee-Chattanooga is the individual leader turning in an open round 66. Russell Henley of Georgia, David Marino of Mississippi and Oliver West are tied for second after they each fired a 67. The Linger Longer Invitational will continue with round two on Saturday.
