MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The University of Memphis men's golf team will compete in their final tournament of the spring before the Conference USA Championships with the Old Waverly Collegiate Championship, Apr. 8-9, in West Point, Miss.

"We are very excited to play this week at Old Waverly," said head coach Grant Robbins. "It's a great golf course and we are going to have to play well against a very competitive field."

The Tigers are coming off two top-three finishes with a runner-up showing at Auburn's Tiger Invitational and a third-place outing at the Memphis Intercollegiate.

The Field
The Old Waverly Collegiate Championship will include Arkansas State, Cincinnati, Georgia State, Louisiana Tech, Louisiana-Lafayette, Memphis, Middle Tennessee, Mississippi, No. 28 Mississippi State, Rice, No. 48 South Alabama, Southeastern Louisiana, Southern Miss and UAB.

Memphis Lineup
Memphis will be represented by senior Carlson Cox, juniors Will Pearson and Grant Milner, sophomore Cory Gaylord and freshman Thomas Perrot. Competing as an individual will be freshman John Luke Tyner.

Event Schedule
The tournament will begin Monday with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. (CT) on the par 72, 7,088-yard course for the first 36 holes. The final round will begin Tuesday morning at 8 a.m. as golfers will tee off at holes 1 and 10.

Last Time Out
The Tigers posted their second-straight top-three finish with a third-place showing at the Memphis Intercollegiate. Memphis defeated four top-50 teams in No. 29 Texas Tech, No. 35 Vanderbilt, No. 43 Ball State and No. 46 South Alabama. The Tigers finished nine strokes behind winner Austin Peay and seven strokes back from Louisiana-Lafayette. Lexus Keoninh finished in a tie for seventh competing as an individual while Grant Milner lead the team with a tie for eighth. Also finishing in the top 20 was Will Pearson, John Luke Tyner (indiv.) and Cory Gaylord.

Upcoming Tournaments
Memphis will head to Texarkana, Ark., for the 2013 Conference USA Championships on Apr. 21-23 at the Texarkana Country Club. Last season, the Tigers captured their first-ever C-USA crown by beating three-time defending champion UCF by two strokes.
