Tigers Set for UK Bluegrass Invitational

MEMPHIS, Tenn.—The University of Memphis golf team will travel to Lexington, Ky. to compete in the UK Bluegrass Invitational on April 10-11. The event consists of 54 holes (36 Saturday and 18 Sunday) and will follow a shotgun format Saturday and standard format Sunday. The UK Big Blue Golf Course (par 71; 6,992 yards) is the site of the tournament. 18 teams are set to compete in the event: Akron, Auburn, Bowling Green State, Canisius, Cincinnati, Dayton, Eastern Kentcuky, Gardner-Webb, Jacksonvile, Kentucky, Lipscomb, Loyola, Marhsall, Memphis, Miami, Western Carolina, Western Kentucky, and Youngstown State. The Tigers finished fourth in their last event (BancorpSouth Intercollegiate) and were led by Jack Belote’s season-low 12th place individual finish. Kentucky successfully defended its home turf last season in the UK Bluegrass Invitational, posting a team total of 880 (+16) to beat out runner-up Western Carolina (890, +26). Memphis tees off in the UK Bluegrass Invitational April 10 at 8:15 a.m. (ET).
