Tigers Remain in Lead at C-USA Championships

TEXARKANA, Ark. - The University of Memphis men's golf team will have a four stroke lead in the Conference USA Championships when final round play begins Tuesday. The tournament is being held at the Texarkana Country Club. The Tigers had a five stroke lead over Houston when play began Monday but that lead has been reduced to four after 36 holes. The Tigers shot a three-over-par 291 as a team in round two. Sophomore Brandon paced the Tigers in round two carding an even-par 72. Seniors Robbie Greenwell, Ian Rochester and junior Brad Benjamin each fired a 73. Senior Kyle Ritchie shot a 77. Greenwell and Rochester are tied for fourth place at three-under par and Bunn is tied for seventh at two-under. Benjamin is at even par and tied for 12th. Ritchie is tied for 41st at six-over. UAB and Southern Miss sit in a tie for third just two shots back of Houston at two-under. UAB's Zach Sucher is the individual leader after 36 holes with a score of 10-under. Sucher shot a 66 on Monday. Paul Apyan of Southern Miss is in second place at seven-under. The Conference USA Championships will be decided with round three on Tuesday.
