MEMPHIS, Tenn.—The University of Memphis golf team is set to tee off Sunday, April 25 when the 2010 Conference USA Men’s Golf Championship gets underway at the RedTail Golf Club in Sorrento, Fla.

The championship, sponsored by C-USA, UCF and the Central Florida Sports Commission, consists of 54 holes on the par 72, 7,152-yard course over three days. The winner receives an automatic berth to the NCAA Regionals.

11 total teams are competing in the tournament: ECU, Houston, Marshall, Memphis, Rice, SMU, Southern Miss, Tulsa, UAB, UCF, and UTEP. UCF claimed the team title in 2009 by posting a three-round total of 847.

The Tigers finished fourth with a total of 866. Memphis will tee off at 9:15 a.m. (EDT) from hole No. 1 and is paired with Tulsa and UAB. Tiger sophomore Jack Belote looks to lead Memphis this week after posting a 17th place showing in the 2009 C-USA Championship.

The championship is scheduled to resume Monday at 8:30 a.m. EDT and the final round will be played Tuesday at 8:30 a.m.
