MEMPHIS, Tenn. -Fresh off leading Memphis to the NCAA Championship, former Tiger golfer Jonathan Fly is set to make his pro debut this week at the FedEx St. Jude Classic held at TPC Southwind.

Fly completed his third season at Memphis in 2011-12 after transferring from Auburn and led the Tigers to the NCAA Championships for only the second time in school history. He was named to C-USA's All First team for the third consecutive season in addition to being a PING All-Southeast performer.

"It's been unbelievable being back in Memphis," Fly said. "I was a little skeptical at first when I made the decision to leave Auburn. But, with our new facility, my swing coach Dan Brown, trainer Yusuf Boyd and my dad, I've just been surrounded by the right people. It's been a really comfortable environment. Plus, Memphis has arguably the best spread of golf courses a city can ask for."

The 2011 Conference USA Championship medalist, Fly competed in 11 tournaments and held a team-best 72.16 scoring average. His low finish came at the BancorpSouth Intercollegiate, where he fired back-to-back rounds of 68 to earn medalist honors in the rain-shortened event. Fly also carded scores of 69-73-72 at the C-USA Championship en route to helping Memphis to the team title and a fifth-place individual showing. He also holds the single season scoring average of 71.9 set in 2010-11.

The FedEx St. Jude Classic kicked off Monday, June 4th, with the Danny Thomas Pro-Am event, and tournament competition is set to begin Thursday, June 7th. Fly is one of seven players receiving a sponsor's exemption into the field along with John Daly, David Duval, Luke Guthrie, Kelly Kraft, Will MacKenzie and Cody Proveaux.
