University of Memphis golf signee Steven Lee claimed victory at the Bubba Conlee National Junior Golf Tournament Thursday, beating out his former Hersonville High School teammate Steven Fox in a playoff. Lee fired rounds of 66-69-68 at the par-70 6,675 yard Quail Ridge Golf Course.

Lee and Fox matched birdie putts on the final hole of regulation to send it into a playoff. After both made par on the first hole, Lee drained a five-foot birdie putt on the second playoff hole to secure the victory.

"I'm very proud of Steven," Tiger head coach Grant Robbins said. "This is a great win for him, especially considering how prestigious of an event it is and all the history in it."

The Bubba Conlee is a well-known junior golf event that has been a staple for Mid-South golfers for nearly 30 years. The tournament also boasts famous past winners such as Doug Barron and Shaun Micheel--both of whom are from Memphis.
