"Jack proved today why he was one of our top recruits. I think he was really nervous yesterday since it was his first collegiate tournament. However, today he settled down and found his comfort zone," said Tiger head coach Grant Robbins.
The Tigers improved by 11 shots as a team on Saturday and moved up to 10th on the leader board with a two day total of 579 (295-284).
Belote's 68 was the third lowest round of the tournament on Saturday. He had six birdies to go with three bogeys. Though he got off to a rough start by bogeying three of his first four holes, Belote showed his composure and fortitude by making birdies on three of his last five holes.
The Mason Rudolph Championship will conclude on Sunday, Sept. 28 as the Tigers play the third and final round.
