Memphis Ready for Wolfpack Intercollegiate

MEMPHIS, Tenn.--Fresh off winning the Mason Rudolph Championship, the University of Memphis golf team will seek back-to-back victories Oct. 4-5 when they travel to Raleigh, N.C. to compete in the Wolfpack Intercollegiate. The event, hosted by North Carolina State, will be held at the par-71, 7,358 yard Lonnie Poole Golf Course, which was recently ranked as the No. 22 best on-campus collegiate courses. 17 teams will be competing this week: UALR, NC-State, Campbell, ECU, Duke, Francis Marion, George Mason, Georgia State, Lynn, Maryland, Memphis, Navy, Rhode Island, UNC-Wilmington, VCU, Wake Forest, and Western Carolina. Jack Belote looks to lead the Tigers this week after posting scores of 66-69-70--205 to capture the individual title at the Mason Rudolph Championship. The 54-hole total was the second lowest in school history and earned Belote both Golf Digest's Collegiate Player of the Week and C-USA Golfer of the Week honors. Play will get underway Modnay, Oct. 4 at 8 am (CDT). Teams will play 36 holes Monday following a shotgun format and 18 on Tuesday.
