Tigers to Host 4th Annual Memphis Intercollegiate

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The University of Memphis men's golf team will host the 4th annual Memphis Intercollegiate golf tournament Monday and Tuesday at Colonial Country Club's South Course. Fifteen teams will compete in the 54 hole event. The 18-hole championship South Course at Colonial was the birth place of the PGA Tour's FedEx/St. Jude Classic and has seen several historic moments, including President Gerald Ford's ace at the 1977 Danny Thomas Memphis Classic and Al Geiberger's second round 59, a score that remains a PGA Tour single round record. The South Course at Colonial is a 7,334 yard par 72 layout with a slope of 148 and USGA rating of 77.2. The following teams will participate in the 2007 Memphis Intercollegiate: Arkansas State, Louisiana-Lafayette, Memphis, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Nebraska, Penn State, Rice, South Alabama, USF, Southeastern Louisiana, Southern Miss, Tulsa, Wisconsin and Xavier.
