ZIONSVILLE, Ind.- The University of Memphis men's golf team combined for a 305 in Saturday's first round of the Wolf Run Intercollegiate and sit in tenth place going into the second round. The Tigers, who are looking for their second top-five appearance of the season, will look to regain the form that lead them to a fifth-place finish at the Scenic City Invitational last month. Sophomore Brad Benjamin led the way for the Tigers on day one. The Rockford, Ill., native shot a 3-over-par 74 (34-40) in Saturday's first-round. Benjamin sits in a tie for 12th place, just one stroke outside the top ten. The next three Tiger golfers are separated by just three strokes. Junior Ian Rochester's opening round of 5-over-par 76 puts him in a tie for 29th going into Saturday's second round. The Cordova, Tenn., native fired a 39 on the front nine, but showed signs of settling down by turning in a 37 on the back. Junior Robbie Greenwell sits one stroke behind his classmate after turning in a 77 (37-40). However, Greenwell remains just four-strokes behind the top ten and will look to make up ground in round two. Like Greenwell, senior Lewis Clarke will look to put his name back on the leaderboard on Sunday after tying for 41st place at the end of Saturday's first round by recording a 78 (36-42). Freshman Brandon Bunn, the Tigers lowest finisher earlier in the week at the Memphis Intercollegiate, rounds out the Memphis lineup after recording a first round 86 (42-44). Second round action continues this afternoon. The Tigers will tee off in tomorrow morning's final round with tee times off of the first and tenth holes beginning at 8:00 a.m. central time. 10 Memphis 305 T 12 Brad Benjamin 74 (34-40) T 29 Ian Rochester 76 (39-37) T 33 Robbie Greenwell 77 (37-40) T 41 Lewis Clarke 78 (36-42) 52 Brandon Bunn 82 (44-38)
