JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - Coming off of their win at the Graeme McDowell Shoal Creek Intercollegiate the Memphis men's golf team hits the road again for their third of five fall tournaments. The Tigers will compete in the Bank Tennessee Intercollegiate Friday, Oct. 11 through Sunday, Oct. 13.
Joining the Tigers and the host East Tennessee State Bucs will be: Army, Coastal Carolina, Furman, Kent State, Missouri, Penn State, Tennessee, Villanova, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and UNC Wilmington.
The Tigers will send five golfers into the weekend; Freshman Lars Van Meijel, senior Will Pearson, junior Cory Gaylord, senior Erwan Vieilledent and sophomore Thomas Perrot. Van Meijel is coming off of a performance at the Graeme McDowell Shoal Creek Intercollegiate that saw him finish tied for the individual championship, Pearson finished third at the same tournament.
Golfers will tee off at the first hole of the Blackthorn Club at the Ridges with a staggered start in the first round Friday and the second round Saturday. The third round will feature a split staggered start at the first and 10th holes.
