MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Fresh off their second top-five finish of the fall, and a tie for first by freshman Kyle Peterman in their last tournament, the University of Memphis men's golf team will take one last shot at a fall tournament title when they tee off on Friday at the Landfall Tradition hosted by UNC-Wilmington.

"We're getting closer to where we need to be," head coach Grant Robbins said. "We had our best round as a team so far this year in the final round at the Mason Rudolph Intercollegiate. We just need to be consistent, and now we have something to build on."

The Tigers rallied to finish fifth at the Mason Rudolph Intercollegiate on Tuesday, overcoming an eighth-place position in the field after day one. Peterman led the way by recording the fifth-lowest round in school history in Monday's second round en route to tying for first place.

The Tigers will face stiff competition as they try to record their second straight top-five finish and third of the season. The Landfall Tradition features an 11-team field with four teams in GolfWeek Magazine's Top 50.

Indiana, Kansas, Maryland, Memphis, Missouri, UNC Wilmington, Ohio State, No. 34 Purdue, No. 33 Tulsa, Virginia Commonwealth, No. 44 Virginia Tech and No. 46 Xavier make up the field.

The tournament will get underway Friday morning with tee times beginning at 7:17 a.m. central time. Eighteen holes of play are scheduled for Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Jack Nicklaus Course at the Country Club of Landfall in Wilmington, N.C.
