Medler begins his third year working on the Tiger Strength and Conditioning staff since returning to the university in the summer of 2007. He is responsible for the men's and women's soccer teams and the men's and women's track sprinters as well as assisting with football and baseball.
Prior to coming back to the University of Memphis in 2007, Medler was the Head Strength and Conditioning Coordinator for Union Public Schools in Tulsa Oklahoma. As the first ever strength coach for Union, Medler was in charge of building a training program for all freshman, junior varsity and varsity athletic teams.
Medler first came to Memphis in the summer of 2004 as a Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach working with football, baseball, softball, and the track sprinters. Medler graduated with his Masters Degree in Human Movement Sciences from the university in the spring of 2006.
Medler began his professional career as a strength and conditioning coach at Anderson University, a liberal arts DIII school in Indiana. While at Anderson University, Medler was responsible for training the football team as well as coaching the defensive line.
As a native of Indiana, Medler lettered four years playing football at Hanover College and received and his Bachelors Degree in Sociology in 2002.
