@UMTigerSoccer Signs Carlos Hurtado

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis men’s soccer team has received a National Letter of Intent from student-athlete Carlos Hurtado for 2014-2015, the University of Memphis athletic department announced Monday.
Hurtado becomes the third signee for the Tigers during this signing period, joining Danny Lane and Alec Velez as incoming Tigers for the 2014-15 year.
Hurtado's hometown is Miranda, Venezuela, and he attended high school at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. He served as a student ambassador throughout his time at the school. Hurtado played soccer at IMG Academy for head coach Scott Dean, and played a majority of his minutes on the pitch at left back. Hurtado played in the Florida State Cup at the U15 level in 2010-11, and also played against the U.S. U17 National Team as a member of the IMG U18 team.
The son of Rafael Hurtado and Osiris Sosa, Carlos Eduardo Hurtado was born in Caracas, Venezuela. When not on the pitch, some of Hurtado’s favorite hobbies include watching movies and body boarding.
