MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The University of Memphis men's soccer team has received a National Letter of Intent from student-athlete Ignacio Milla for 2014-15, the University of Memphis Athletic Department announced Friday.
Ignacio Milla arrives at Memphis from the Southern Cross School in his hometown of Santiago, Chile. Milla played central defender and left wing at Southern Cross School, and scored five goals in 13 games last season. He was voted Sportsman of the year at Southern Cross from 2007-12.
Milla was the captain of his club team, 2SVSports. Milla's brother, Javier, plays for Barnechea FC, a Chilean football club based in Santiago, at the U16 level.
Ignacio Andres Milla Muñoz is the son of Sergio Milla and Loreto Muñoz and was born in Santiago, Chile. When he is not on the pitch, Milla enjoys reading and playing tennis.
Milla is the fourth 2014-15 commitment for the Tigers during this signing period, joining Danny Lane, Alec Velez and Carlos Hurtado.
