MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The University of Memphis men's soccer team received a commitment from John Reilly, a strong midfielder who played with Tiger defender Graham Gibbs in prep school at Colaiste Ide in Dublin.
He played with the Cherry Orchard soccer club, which is one of the stronger youth clubs in Ireland, and his prep school's team is currently touring the Mid South and playing exhibition matches against area college teams, including the University of Memphis.
"John is a solid young player who will give us added depth at outside midfielder," said University of Memphis head coach Richie Grant. "We are very excited about his addition to our squad."
Memphis has now received seven commitments for next year's club, including four from the Memphis area.
