MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Four home conference matches out of eight and a game against powerhouse Creighton highlight the 2007 men's soccer schedule, which was announced Monday by Memphis head coach Richie Grant.

In preseason action, the Tigers will take on two neighboring teams. Memphis will face off with Lambuth University on Saturday, August 18. and will then take on Christian Brothers University on Wednesday, August 22.

The 2007 season will open up with the Memphis Diadora Tournament, which will begin on Friday, August 3. Evansville will compete against Oral Roberts University at 3:00 p.m. The Tigers will take on Louisville that evening at 7:30 p.m. The tournament will conclude on Sunday, September 2, with Oral Roberts taking on Louisville at 5:00 p.m. followed by Memphis facing off with Evansville at 7:30 p.m.

Memphis will then take the road to Fullerton, Calif., where they will compete in the Cal State Fullerton Tournament hosted by Cal State University, Fullerton. The Tigers will take on CSUF at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 7. They will then battle against Cal State Northridge at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 9.

The Tigers will come home for one home game to battle Central Florida on Saturday, September 15. The time is to be announced. Memphis will then head to Evansville for the Evansville Tournament. The Tigers will face off against Indiana University-Purdue University at Fort Wayne at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, September 21. On Sunday, September 23 at 12:00 p.m., Memphis will take on Mercer.

The Memphis soccer team will come home for one game against Centenary on Saturday, September 29 at 7:00 p.m. before leaving to take on Conference USA member Tulsa on the road. The Tigers will play Tulsa on Friday, October 5 at 7:00 p.m.

The next two games will be played at home, where Memphis will play host to 2006 NCAA Tournament team Creighton. That game will take place on Sunday, October 7 at 1:00 p.m. Memphis will host Kentucky in a conference battle on Saturday, October 13 at 7:00 p.m.

The Tigers will hit the road to take on Marshall on Wednesday, October 17 at 7:00 p.m. After Marshall, Memphis will have two home games. The Tigers will host the Gamecocks from South Carolina for a conference battle on Saturday, October 20 at 7:00 p.m. Central Arkansas will come to Memphis to battle the Tigers on Wednesday, October 24 at 7:00 p.m.

The last four games of the season will split the Tigers with two games on the road and two games at home. The last two games in October will be with Memphis traveling to SMU on Saturday, October 27 at 7:00 p.m., followed by Memphis hosting Alabama A&M on Wednesday, October 31 at 7:00 p.m. Memphis will open up November with a conference battle against 2006 NCAA Tournament Team UAB on Saturday, November 3 at 7:00 p.m. The 2007 regular season will conclude with a conference match against Florida International at the Mike Rose Soccer Complex on Saturday, November 10 at 7:00 p.m.

The Conference USA Tournament will take place November 14-18.
