Welcome to Andy Metcalf's MLS Journal
Journal Entry 6 - Monday, July 3
Since the last time I wrote you, we have continued our great form, going 3-0-1 in the last four games, making us unbeaten in our last 10 games. We beat Kansas City twice, won against Chicago and tied New England. We have opened up a 14 point lead in the Eastern standings, and have an eight point lead for the best record in MLS. Since we are off to such a great start, our coaching staff will be coaching the MLS All-Stars against Chelsea in August.
Last week, my family came to visit me up here in D.C., which was much needed. They stayed for five days, catching the games against Chicago and Kansas City. During our free time, we walked around downtown D.C., seeing the White House, Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, Union Station, as well as many other historical landmarks. We also enjoyed the World Cup games, although the U.S. disappointed. It was a good trip overall and I was glad they made the trip.
We have a game coming up on the 4th of July in Dallas, followed by a game in Columbus, in which me and Dayton O'Brien will square off in the reserve match. It would be good to see Dayton, as it has been a few months. My family is also planning on attending, as well as Dayton's family and some friends from Memphis. It should be fun!
That's all that been going on here lately, so until next time, God Bless!
