PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Senior forward Mark Sherrod was named the American Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.

He becomes the second Tiger to earn a weekly award this season. Freshman Jordan Klipsch was named the American Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week on Sept. 9.

Sherrod scored the game-winning goal and assisted on the other goal in Saturday night's 2-0 win over Cincinnati.

With that three point performance against the Bearcats, Sherrod passes Tiger legend Dayton O'Brien (2002-05, 82 points) and moves into fifth-place in school history with 84 career points.

Sherrod is coming off of back-to-back Conference USA Offensive Player of the Year awards in 2011 and 2012. He also won the Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week award three times over the last two seasons. (Oct. 17, 2011; Oct. 31, 2011 and Nov. 5, 2012).

The Tigers return to action tomorrow night against the Mercer Bears. Kickoff at Mike Rose Soccer Complex is scheduled for 7 p.m. and admission is FREE for all fans.
