Camp Information

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The men’s soccer program has announced that it will hold its annual Winter Camp for freshmen, sophomore, junior and seniors in high school, January 21st through January 23rd of 2011.

This camp, which is designed for coaches to help prepare athletes for their upcoming high school and club seasons, will be conducted by Memphis head coach Richie Grant, with help from his assistants, players and various coaches from surrounding universities.

The camp will be conducted at the University of Memphis South Campus Athletic Facility, which features a full training pitch, turf field, indoor turf room and other top-rated facilities. Activities and features of the camp will include:

·         Training Sessions

o   Training sessions will consist of technical and tactical with the use of 8v8 games building to 11v11

o   Train alongside current University of Memphis players

o   Goalkeeping sessions conducted by University of Memphis Goalkeeping Coach Remco De-Jong, a former Ajax staff member

·         Video Analysis

o   Classroom sessions will be used to educate and familiarize players with the day to day demands of college soccer

o   Positional breakdown and analysis

·         Camp Staff

o   University of Memphis Coaching Staff

o   Coaches from various Division 1, 2, and 3

o   Current University of Memphis players

The attached forms must be filled out and turned in to assistant coach Nick Glaser, along with a registration fee, before a prospective camper will be allowed to participate.
