MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Memphis goalkeeper Michael Goodlett, a native of Bolton, Miss., was announced as the C-USA Defensive Player of the Week by the Conference USA office. This is the first time Goodlett has earned a weekly conference honor. Michael Coburn, a senior defender for the Tigers, was named the C-USA Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 5, and the C-USA Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 20.

On Friday, Goodlett earned his fourth shutout of the season, holding the 18th-best scoring offense in the nation scoreless in four periods. Kentucky came into the game as the No. 23 team in the nation. Goodlett finished the game with five saves on 13 shots for the U of M. This past week, Goodlett moved into the record books for the Tigers as having the fourth-best career goals against average behind women's soccer head coach Brooks Monaghan who in his career posted a 1.40 goals against average. Monaghan was an all-conference selection for the Tigers in early '90s. Goodlett currently has a 1.42 goals against average. On the season, Goodlett has a 1.32 goals against average and 72 saves. He is third in Conference USA for saves and sixth in goals against average.
