MEMPHIS, Tenn. - With Saturday's 1-0 overtime defeat of FIU, the University of Memphis men's soccer team secured the fifth seed in the 2007 Conference USA Men's Soccer Championship. The Tigers will play the fourth seeded Gamecocks from South Carolina Wednesday at 5:30, in the third game of the quarterfinal round at UAB's West Campus Field.

Memphis (10-4-4, 3-2-3) and South Carolina (10-5-2, 4-2-2) faced each other once during the regular season and fought to a 1-1 double overtime draw at Mike Rose Soccer Complex in Memphis. That match was every bit the defensive struggle it was anticipated to be, as the entirety of the scored took place inside of 30 seconds in the second period.

As regular season champions, the University of Tulsa (12-2-2, 6-0-2) is the top seed in this year's tournament. The Golden Hurricane will take on host UAB (7-10-1, 2-6-0)in the final match of Wednesday's opening round. Second-seed SMU (13-3-2, 6-1-1) will host FIU (3-13-2, 2-6-0) Wednesday at noon to kick off the league tournament.
