BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Conference USA office announced today the results of the league's postseason awards as determined by the conference's head coaches. After the votes were tallied, the Tigers had five players selected to all conference teams. Jared Britcher (forward), Adam Montgomery (midfielder), and Michael Coburn (defender) were selected to the All-Conference Second team; Sean Goulding (midfielder) was named to the Third Team; and Ryan Ruble (midfielder) was recognized as one of the league elite freshman.

SMU's Bruno Guarda was selected as the conference's Offensive Player of the Year, and Kentucky's Barry Rice was named the Defensive Player of the Year. Two Gamecocks earned individual honors, rookie goal keeper Jimmy Maurer won the Freshman of the Year honor and Tyler Ruthven was named the league's Newcomer of the Year. Tulsa head coach Tom McIntosh was selected by his peer as the C-USA Coach of the year following his team's 12-2-2 regular-season record.

The C-USA Championship kicks off tomorrow, as SMU hosts Florida International at noon. The Tigers will play South Carolina at 5:30 p.m. to open the evening session. Memphis and SC battled to a 1-1 double overtime time earlier this year.
