DALLAS, Texas - Memphis men's soccer players Rick Alleman, a senior from Spring, Texas, and Parker Duncan, a sophomore from Johnson City, Tenn., were among 16 men's soccer student-athletes from Conference USA's nine competing men's soccer institutions to be named to the Conference USA All-Academic team, as was announced on Friday morning from the Conference USA office in Dallas, Texas.

This is the first academic honor for Alleman, the Tigers' senior captain. The defender has maintained a 3.6 GPA over six semester at the University of Memphis. A major in exercise and sports science, Alleman is set to graduate in May of 2010. He was named to C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll for 2008-09 for carrying a GPA of 3.0 or higher and was included on the C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll in 2007 and 2008.

A four-year starter at defender for the Tigers, Alleman was recently acknowledged as a member of the All-C-USA second team for his performance on the field in 2009. The senior finished with one goal and one assist on the season. He also had his hand in six shutouts defensively.

Duncan, a sophomore from Johnson City, Tenn., was recently named to the CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District IV team. He has maintained a 3.99 GPA in biology over his two semesters at the U of M. Duncan was named to C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll for having a 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher in the spring of 2009. He also earned the Conference USA Academic Medal for the 2008-09 school year for having a 3.75 cumulative GPA or higher.

On the field, Duncan led the Tigers in scoring with four goals and three assists for 11 points overall. A C-USA All-Freshman selection in 2008, as well as an All-C-USA third team selection in the same season, Duncan started off strong in his follow-up to a successful freshman campaign, but was held without a goal or assist over the last month of play for the Tigers.
