Trio of @UMTigerSoccer Student-Athletes Earn All-Conference Honors

FRISCO, Texas – Senior forward Mark Sherrod was named a First Team All-American Athletic Conference selection, while two other Tigers also earned all-conference honors, the American Athletic Conference announced Thursday night.
Sherrod and Collins earned conference recognition for the third consecutive season.
In earning First Team All-American Athletic Conference honors, Sherrod led Memphis with seven goals and 16 points this season. The Knoxville, Tenn. native topped the Tigers in scoring for the third consecutive season, and has earned first team all-conference honors for the third straight years (All C-USA First Team in 2011 and 2012).
The senior forward ranks third in program history in both career goals (42) and career points (96).
Collins earned a spot on the All-American Athletic Conference second team after leading Memphis in assists with 10. Collins currently leads the American Athletic Conference in assists and assists per game (0.56). The Skibbereen, Ireland native is also tied for fourth nationally in assists.
Collins is tied with former Tiger Dayton O’Brien for most career assists in school history with 34, and led the Tigers in assists in all four seasons on campus.
Freshman Raul Gonzalez was named to the American Athletic Conference All-Rookie Team after becoming a key figure in the Memphis offensive attack. The Ocean Springs, Miss. native played in all 18 games and started 13 of those contests for the Tigers this season.
Gonzalez finished third on the team in assists with three, and all three of his assists set up game-tying or game-winning goals.
