MEMPHIS, Tenn.- Junior men's soccer player Mark Sherrodwas named a finalist for the 2012 Soccer News Net College Boot, the organization announced Tuesday. Sherrod is among 34 players nominated for the award recognizing the organization's men's college player of the year.

Sherrod finished the 2012 campaign with 12 goals, 4 assists and 28 points. The Knoxville, Tenn., native received All-Conference USA first team honors and the 2012 C-USA Offensive Player of the Year award for the second straight year. Sherrod in one of only two players to repeat as the C-USA Offensive Player of the Year in back-to-back years.

Fan voting will account for 40-percent of the total award, with the remaining 60-percent of the vote cast by the Soccer News Net editorial staff. The winner of the popular fan vote will receive the Soccer News Net Supporter's Choice Award.
