NSCAA Men's University Division Scholar All-South Region Team

MEMPHIS, Tenn.-Bailey Pembroke, Andreas Guentner and Mark Sherrod were named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) University Division Scholar All-South Region Teams, Tuesday. The award recognizes student-athletes' accomplishments both on the field and in the classroom.

Pembroke received NSCAA Women's Scholar All-South Region third team honors. The Flower Mound, Texas, native maintained a 4.0 GPA, majoring in marketing management. During the 2012 campaign, Pembroke served as a team captain, playing in all 19 games while starting 12 of the contests. The senior is a three-time recipient of the Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Medal and received 2012 C-USA All-Academic first team honors.

Guentner received NSCAA Men's Scholar All-South Region second team honors. The senior team captain maintained a 3.90 GPA while majoring in international business. The Regensberg, Germany native played in 17 games during the 2012 season as a starter in each contest, tallying 1,621 minutes on the field as a defender. Guentner was named to the C-USA All-Academic team three times and has twice received the C-USA Commissioner's Academic Medal.

Sherrod received NSCAA Men's Scholar All-South Region first team honors. The junior forward held a 3.48 GPA while majoring in civil engineering. Sherrod was the Tigers' leading scorer in 2012, tallying 12 goals, four assists and 28 points. For his academic efforts this season, the Knoxville, Tenn., native was named to the NSCAA Scholar All-America third team, the Capital One Academic-All-America third team and the C-USA All-Academic Team.
