Spring 2008: Was 6-6 in singles play overall ... Was 0-1 in duals play at the No. 4 position ... Teamed with Charlie Ramsay to put a 4-1 overall record ... Partnered with Leon Nasemann for a 5-3 mark at the No. 2 position ... Teamed with Jordan Smith at the No. 3 position to go 3-5.
Fall 2007: Went 5-6 in singles play during the fall slate ... Won two matches at the MTSU Invitational, defeating Leonardo Tolosa of Austin Peay, 6-2, 6-4, and Dusan Milovanovic of Morehead State, 6-4, 6-4 ... Also won two matches at the Southern Intercollegiates, beating his opposition from MTSU and Wofford ... Went 6-3 in doubles matches during the Fall season ... Teamed with Charlie Ramsay to win two matches at the MTSU Fall Invitational ... Ramsay and Heflin defeated three opponents at the UNF Invitational.
Spring 2007: Had a solid freshman campaign, finishing the year with a 14-15 overall singles record, including a 10-6 mark during dual season play...Was 6-4 at No. 6 singles and 4-2 at No. 5 during the spring...Teamed with Garrison Pilant for a majority of the matches at No. 3 doubles, where the duo was 8-11 on the year...Also teamed with Benedikt Fischer for a 1-0 mark at No. 2 doubles.
Fall 2006 (Freshman): Went 4-6 in singles during his first semester of collegiate tennis...Also teamed with Jimmy Khougassian to post a 0-1 mark in doubles and with fellow freshman Cody Loup for a 1-6 record in doubles....Named to the Dean's List and the Tiger 3.0 Club.
Prep: Was a four-year letterwinner at MUS in Memphis...Was the team captain in 2006 and played in the Tennessee Qualifying Doubles in 2006...Was named a Commercial Appeal Best of Preps player in 2005 and 2006...Was coached by former Tiger Peter Lebedevs at MUS.
Personal: Born Jan. 23, 1988 in Germantown...Son of Mike and Beth Heflin...His dad is a Vice President for First Tennessee...Was also offered scholarships by Wofford and Middle Tennessee...Would like to help Memphis advance to the NCAAs this year and would add Georgia and Louisville to the schedule if he were in charge of scheduling...His mom, Beth, played collegiate tennis at Rhodes...Also enjoys basketball and golf...Major is undecided....Picked Memphis because he liked the coach and everyone on the team...Nickname is Hef.
