Men's Tennis Falls at No. 8 Oklahoma, 4-0

NORMAN, Okla. - - The University of Memphis men's tennis team (1-1) lost to No. 8 ranked Oklahoma, 4-0, Saturday. Following the loss in the first match of the ITA Kickoff Weekend, Memphis will now face No. 30 Notre Dame, Sunday, at 9 a.m. Notre Dame lost, 4-3, to No. 28 Harvard in the first match of the day at the event. The host team got off to a 1-0 start with three wins in doubles play to start the day. OU got on the board first with an 8-4 win at No. 2 doubles, followed by an 8-6 win at No. 1 to clinch the team point. They completed the sweep with an 8-6 win at No. 3 doubles. The Sooners kept up the effort with every player winning their first set in singles play. Dane Webb downed Lukas Vrnak, 6-2, 6-3 at No. 3 singles for the second Sooner point, followed by a 6-0, 6-1 win from Peerakit Siributwong over David O'Leary at No. 5 singles. Memphis battled back, with Joe Salisbury up 5-3 in his second set at No. 2 singles, but before he could try to get the set back, Oklahoma used a 6-3, 6-2 win from Costi Paval over Connor Glennon at No. 1 singles to close out the victory, 4-0. The remaining matches were not finished with another day of play on the calendar for Sunday morning for the Tigers. No. 8 Oklahoma 4, No. 31 Memphis 0 Singles:
