Men's Tennis Falls to No. 30 Notre Dame, 4-0

The University of Memphis men's tennis team (1-2) faced a second-top ranked opponent in as many days, and while picking up a win at No. 1 doubles, was swept in singles play to fall, 4-0, to No. 30 Notre Dame (3-2), Sunday.
Notre Dame scored first, using an 8-1 win at No. 3 doubles. The Tigers' tandem of Connor Glennon and Cedric de Zutter then picked up their first win over a ranked doubles opponent of the spring with an 8-6 victory over the team of Greg Andrews and Spencer Talmadge.
But it was Notre Dame who got the doubles point with an 8-6 win at No. 1 doubles to go up 1-0. Memphis then picked up a set win at No. 1 singles, 6-2, but Notre Dame picked up wins at No. 3, 4 and 5 singles to close out the match and pick up their third win of the spring.
The Tigers return home to host Southern Illinois and Murray State on Friday at The Racquet Club of Memphis. Memphis hosts Southern Illinois at noon and Murray State at 6:30 p.m.
