No. 46 Memphis Handles Tennessee Tech, 6-1

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - In its first home match of the season, No. 46 Memphis defeated Tennessee Tech, 6-1. The Tigers swept the doubles matches and claimed five of the six singles matches against the Golden Eagles. Johnny Grimal and Leon Nasemann made quick work of Justin Kirstein and Vasily Eremeev, 8-3. Connor Glennon and David Henry also won their match, 8-3, over Alejandro Bueno and Artem Tarasov. No. 47 David O'Hare and Joe Salisbury completed the doubles sweep, 8-1, against Syrym Abdukhailikov and Alex Chen. After Memphis claimed the doubles point, Grimal kept the momentum for the Tigers with a 6-0, 6-0 win versus Chen. Glennon, David O'Leary, Nasemann and Salisbury also recorded wins to put the meet away. The match of the night was between No. 50 O'Hare and Abdukhailikov. After dropping the first set in a tie-break, 7-6 (7-5), O'Hare responded by winning the second set, 6-1.O'Hare and Abdukhailikov played a super-tie break to decide the match, a tie-break won by Abdukhailikov, 10-8.
