MEMPHIS, Tenn.- Memphis men's tennis trumped UT-Chattanooga in a 7-0 decision Sunday morning at The Racquet Club of Memphis, marking the first sweep of the 2011 season. The 58th-ranked Tigers (3-1, 0-1 C-USA) were up on the Mocs (0-4) early, securing the doubles point with solid 8-1, 8-3, and 8-2 wins at No. 1-3 respectively. Frehman Johnny Grimal picked up the first singles point for the U of M with a swift 6-1, 6-1 win over his opponent Stephen Crofford. Junior Leon Nasemann wrapped up next at No. 3 slot and freshman Joe Salisbury secured the team victory for the Blue and Gray with his 6-1, 6-4 routing of UTC's Trent Cobb at No. 1. Freshman David O'Hare clinched the sweep at No. 2 singles, where he battled back from a first-set loss to defeat Jackson Tresnan 4-6, 5-7, 1-0 (6) in a 10-point tiebreaker. Next on the schedule for the Tigers is a tough battle against No. 38 Vanderbilt. That match will take place in Nashville, Tenn., and is slated for 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 4.
