No. 18 Memphis Blanks Murray State, 7-0

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The No. 18 University of Memphis men's tennis team (3-1) swept their second opponent of the day following a 7-0 victory over Murray State (0-3) on Friday night at The Racquet Club of Memphis.
The Tigers' doubles play continued to shine, winning their fourth doubles point in as many matches. The team of Connor Glennon and Cedric De Zutter cruised to a 6-0 win over Aleks and Nicholas Mitric at No. 2 before Ian Chadwell and Johnny Grimal claimed a 6-1 victory at No. 3 over David Hess and Mateo Barroetavena for a 1-0 lead.
In singles, No. 87 Grimal took little time in downing Aleks Mitric at No. 3 with a 6-1, 6-0 win before De Zutter recorded a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Barroetavena at No. 5 to give Memphis a 3-0 advantage.
No. 49 Glennon clinched the match for the Tigers after a 6-3, 6-1 triumph over Nicholas Mitric at No. 2. Chadwell followed with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Hess while Louis Asser claimed a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Anjan Kashyab at No. 6 in his first match as a Tiger.
No. 56 Joe Salisbury completed the sweep for Memphis, posting a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 1 over Adam Taylor.
Memphis takes a two-week break before heading to Nashville to take on in-state foe Vanderbilt on Friday, Feb. 14 at 2 p.m. (CT).
