Iowa/Memphis Results 
The University of Memphis men's tennis team fell, 6-1, to the No. 58 Iowa Hawkeyes on Friday afternoon at the Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Complex in Iowa City, Iowa. With the loss, Memphis falls to 1-3 on the season.
In doubles, the No. 1 pair of Jordan Smith and David Henry improved to 2-2 with a win over Iowa's top duo of Marc Bruche and Nikita Zotov, 8-7. Smith and Henry's only doubles losses on the season came to the 15th-ranked doubles pair from Oklahoma State and No. 35 Tulsa's top pair.
At No. 2 doubles, the tandem of Leon Nasemann and John Taylor fell to Reinoud Haal and Garrett Dunn, 8-6. The loss is Nasemann and Taylor's first dual loss of the 2010 season. The pair falls to 3-1 this year.
At the No. 2 spot, Charlie Ramsay and Spencer Heflin also suffered their first loss this season, falling to Iowa's Tommy McGeorge and Will Vasos, 8-4.
In singles, Gaerthoeffner, a junior from Rheine, Germany, picked up a 7-6, 6-2, victory over McGeorge at No. 5 singles.
At the No. 1 spot, Nasemann fell to Bruche, 6-3, 7-5. Nasemann is 2-2 at the top singles spot this year.
The Tigers took four of their six singles opponents to three sets. Ramsay, a senior from Chattanooga, Tenn., took Zotov to three sets at the No. 2 singles position. Ramsay won the first set, 6-3, but lost the next two, 1-6, 5-7.
Henry, a sophomore from Signal Mountain, took Haal to three sets at the No. 3 slot, winning the first set, 6-3, but falling in the next two sets, 3-6, 5-7.
At No. 4 singles, Michael Janz, a junior from Lousanne, Switzerland, won his first set over Vasos, 6-4, but fell in the next two sets, 4-6, 1-6.
At the No. 6 spot, Smith, a junior from Memphis, Tenn., took Austin Kauss to three sets, winning the first set, 5-7, but falling to Kauss in the final two sets, 6-2, 6-3.
Memphis will continue their road trip when they face the Drake Bulldogs on Sun., Feb. 7 at 1 p.m. (CST) in Des Moines, Iowa.
